Come take a break from the intensity of today’s political climate by spending an evening in the topsy-turvy world of speculative fiction as we answer the question: What would the White House be like if U.S. Presidents of the past acted with the same bizarre impunity as the 45th president?

The launch will include readings from some of the diverse authors of the book, including Peter Carlaftes, Christopher Chambers, Angel Luis Colon, Adam Lance Garcia, Alison Gaylin, S. J. Rozan, and Alex Segura. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the event. The event is free and open to the public.

About the Book.

THE FAKING OF THE PRESIDENT is fiction, so far. With a humorous nod to “fake news” in today’s political landscape, nineteen award-winning, diverse authors offer new stories of past presidential antics in a unique act of creative resistance that confirms absolute power absolutely corrupts, and openly wonders how far down the rabbit hole the American presidency can go.

Inside the book:

  • Nixon takes a covert psychedelic trip with Elvis, and—years later—realizes he has it on tape
  • Clinton and an illegitimate son embark on an action-packed adventure set to jazz
  • W. Bush reveals how he really won the 2000 election
  • …and so much more!

HIGH PRAISE FOR THE FAKING OF THE PRESIDENT

“Many of the 19 speculative stories in this highly entertaining anthology show U.S. presidents behaving badly, some with the same impunity as the current occupant of the White House. … Fans of alternate history will have fun. This is the perfect diversion for those seeking a break from the more serious aspects of the election season.” ―Publishers Weekly

The Faking of the President is a wild, rollicking ride through the corridors of power both past and present. These stories are dark, humorous and thoughtful; they take the presidency and its environs and turn it into a fun house of noirish story-telling. Get this book and read it during the presidential campaign to help keep your head on straight.” ―T.J. English, New York Times Best Selling author of Havana Nocturne and The Westies
