Novel-T creates baseball jersey-style literary t-shirts of writers and characters. Founded in 2009 for those whose heroes are found in the bookstore instead of the ballpark, Novel-T provides a unique opportunity to "wear your read." The shirts are super-soft and available in independent bookstores, museum gift shops, T-shirt boutiques and online at www.novel-t.com.

Hosted cooperatively by the culture site BrooklyntheBorough.com and Novel-T, this "Opening Day"-themed party will also feature readings by Richard Grayson and David Goodwillie, the musical stylings of DJ DB Wonder (who spins at the Diesel store in Union Square), and a special appearance by Brooklyn Cyclones' mascot Sandy the Seagull. Half of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to 826NYC, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit that supports children ages 6–18 with their creative writing and expository skills. There will be a Nintendo Wii homerun derby, with beer and Cracker Jacks served!

About the Novel-T Literary Jersey Team 2 Clothing Line:
Novel-T creates super-soft jersey-style literary t-shirts of writers and characters, with an original logo on the front of each shirt and the name and number on the back. Novel-T's first line of shirts has been a hit since it debuted in September.

Unlike the first team—which included the likes of Ahab, Hester Prynne, Bartleby, Poe, and Thoreau—Novel-T's second team will feature some international talent, one nonfiction writer, and one living author.

About the participants:
David Goodwillie is author of the novel American Subversive and the memoir Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time, for which he was named one of the "Best New Writers of 2006" by members of the PEN American Center. He is a regular contributor to The Daily Beast, and his fiction and nonfiction have appeared in numerous magazines, journals, and web sites, He was formerly a professional baseball player.

Richard Grayson is the author of a number of short story collections, including With Hitler in New York, Lincoln's Doctor's Dog, and I Brake for Delmore Schwartz. A lawyer and college teacher, he has published nonfiction in People, The New York Times, Newsday, The Miami Herald, The Arizona Republic and other periodicals. He lives in Williamsburg.

For close to a decade, DB Wonder (a.k.a. Dan Bradbury) has been serving up cool grooves and hot beats to the whole Tri-State area. He has held down residencies at White Rabbit, Uncle Mings, Piano's & has spun a variety of gigs such as The Metropolitan Museum, Chelsea Art Museum, Savalas, Guest House & many more. You can currently catch him at Piano's on Saturdays for the infamous Mile High Parties and at the Diesel store on 5th ave.

Novel-T founders David Bukszpan and Michael Kravetsky will be present to play ball!
