Multi-platinum musician Moby has compiled writings from 15 of the country's leading food-minded folks who lay out a hard-hitting and eye-opening guide to the meat you eat. Moby and co-editor Miyun Park, Executive Director of Global Animal Partnership, as well as a selection of Gristle's contributors, will be present to discuss and sign the book. Refreshments will be served.

About Gristle:
Where's the beef? In the news, that's where. More than ever before, meat is making headlines. Contamination cases are on the rise, obesity has become pandemic, and industrial animal agriculture is responsible for more greenhouse emissions than the entire transportation sector. It's no wonder that people are increasingly concerned about the impacts of our factory-farming system of raising animals for food—and rightfully so.

But Gristle is not just for vegetarians or foodies or environmentalists; it's for everyone who wants to make informed choices about the food they consume. Multi-platinum musician Moby, with his co-editor Miyun Park, brings together 15 of the country's leading foodies, doctors, policy makers, business leaders, and activists to create a smart, concise guide to the hidden impacts of the industrial factory-farming system that has taken hold of American agriculture. Combining hard-hitting facts with a light touch, each chapter is studded with attention-grabbing quotes, fun facts, and other irresistible food for thought.

Gristle is for anyone who has ever read the stories beneath the headlines and wondered about the choices they are making. As Miyun Park writes in her epilogue, "This book isn't about veganism and it isn't about bringing down the animal agriculture industry. It's about social justice and ethics and, not to sound too melodramatic, the truth."

For the millions of Americans who are questioning how animals are raised for food in industrial agriculture, this is the fun, accessible guide for omnivores to vegans.

About the editors:
Executive Director of Global Animal Partnership, Miyun Park has helped to drive greater interest in, and policies for improving, the well-being of animals raised for meat, eggs, and milk in corporate board rooms, international investment banks, academic institutions, courthouses, and legislatures over her more than 15 years of animal advocacy. Ms. Park has published dozens of articles and reports, and spoken around the world, on animal agriculture and the welfare of farm animals.

Moby is one of the world's most critically acclaimed and commercially successful musicians. Known for his political and social activism, he has been a vegan for more than 15 years. He is the co-author of Teany Book and lives in New York City.
